World Time Widget

World Time Widget on iPhone Duo

World Time Widget is great on iPhone Duo. When you open it up your clocks sit on one side, with the world map and a 24-hour time overlap on the other.

Closed: your clocks, as on iPhone

On the outer screen you get the familiar clock list. Tap a clock to open its detail page, with every clock on a map at the top and the one you tapped ringed. The Calculator floats over the list, just as it does on iPhone.

Open: clocks on the left, the world on the right

Unfold the Duo and the app splits into two columns. Your clock list stays on the left. On the right you see:

  • The world map, with a live day/night shadow and every clock marked.
  • Time overlap: a bar for each clock showing daylight, work hours and night across the next 24 hours, with a red line for now. It’s the quickest way to see who’s awake.
  • Upcoming Reminders, with an Add Reminder button.

Tap a clock and the right side becomes its detail page. You get a big time card with Reminders and Convert buttons, that clock’s time overlap, sunrise and sunset, its location and time zone, and the next two daylight saving changes. Tap the pencil to rename the clock, or × to go back to the map.

Half-folded

Stand the Duo up like a book and the two columns split evenly either side of the fold, so nothing sits in the crease. In laptop pose the columns stay side by side, and the Calculator docks in the lower half under the map. Every feature works whichever way you hold it.

A new way to sort your clocks

Also new in this release: a sort button next to Add. Choose Custom, Name, Time, East to West or West to East. The app remembers your choice, puts new clocks in the right place, and syncs the order over iCloud. Go back to Custom and your hand-made order returns.

Widgets that list clocks now have a Sort option too. It’s set to Same as App, but you can give each widget its own order.
